Upper Vauxhall Bridge Road - Queen Mother Sports Centre.
Help ensure that the Queen Mother Sports Centre remains if the area is developed.
Westminster Council has issued notification about a consultation period relating to the potential development of the site at the northern end of Vauxhall Bridge Road .This is bounded by Wilton Road, Gillingham Street, Longmore Street and Upper Tatchbrook Street and includes the Queen Mother Sports Centre.
Residents, organisations, businesses and interested parties MUST email their comments to Westminster during the consultation period which ends on the 18th November 2016.
It is essential that all users of the Queen Mother Sports Centre inform Westminster that they wish for this building to be retained if development occurs. Please write your own individual account as to why you feel it is an important asset to the community. Perhaps you are you part of a group or club that meets there regularly and this also adds to the enhancement of your sense or wellbeing and social interaction.
Please also mention in your own words that if the sports facilities are upgraded that the same square footage and space should be kept and that the gym, pool, and exercise rooms are not reduced in size.
In addition the membership fees should be kept in line with current charges .
There should not be such an expense incurred by the developer that the fees need to be increased several times.
It is important to emphasis the fact that this is used as a community base for everyone .This includes young mothers and toddlers, local school children who use the swimming pool , more senior members of the community , the disabled and the staff and teachers.
Please encourage your friends and neighbours to support the retention of this
All responses to Westminster must be emailed to their link BEFORE THE 18TH November 2016.
Either go directly to the Westminster link at
Or go to
www.belgravia society.org which is a local charity helping members with their queries about the consultation process to retain the sports facilities.
